About this site

The AI API Cost Calculator exists because AI pricing pages answer "how much per token?" but never "how much will my product cost per month?". We built the tool we wished existed when budgeting our own AI features: one place to model users, tokens, caching, infrastructure and margin — and compare providers side by side.

How estimates are built

The calculator multiplies your usage assumptions by per-million-token prices stored in an editable data file, applies cache discounts and your safety margin, and adds any infrastructure costs you enter. The math is deterministic and open — nothing is hidden. Prices must always be verified against each provider's official pricing page; we clearly flag when data is sample data.

Who we are

This site is built and maintained by DXPERIMENTS STUDIO LLC, a US-registered software studio that builds and optimizes AI automations for startups and agencies. We use these same calculators in client work — every formula here has been argued over in a real budget meeting. The free cost review offered on the homepage is how we meet people we can help — no spam, no reselling of your data.

How we keep the data honest

Every price in the calculator links to the provider's official pricing page and carries the date we last verified it. When providers change prices or launch models (as OpenAI did with the GPT-5.6 family in July 2026), we update the data file and note it in the affected pages. If you spot a stale number, tell us via the contact page — corrections ship within days.
